Bahraini anti-government protesters, accompanied by two Western activists, sit in a street and gesture toward riot police blocking their way in Qadam, Bahrain, on Friday, Feb. 17. The Westerners in front - U.S. activist Medea Benjamin, center right, and Briton Elaine Martha, center left - were arrested along with at least one Bahraini woman during the march, one of several efforts Friday to walk toward the main site of last spring’s pro-democracy protests, now a revamped but sealed-off traffic junction in the capital. Bahrain has already arrested and deported around eight foreign activists in the past few days.
